Sidewalk rules (ORS 814.410)
eBikes are prohibited on sidewalks everywhere in Oregon under ORS 814.410(1)(e), and that includes every sidewalk in Oregon City. This one catches riders out, because the rule for a conventional bicycle is different — those are generally allowed on sidewalks unless a local ordinance says otherwise. eBikes get no such allowance. If you need to be on a sidewalk, dismount and walk the bike.
Bike lanes
All three classes are allowed in standard on-street bike lanes. Multi-use paths are generally open where bicycles are permitted, subject to posted signage and the rules of whichever authority manages the path. Always check the signs; paths and trails can carry their own restrictions.
