Every trail has a story.

This project is rooted in West Linn, Oregon, shaped by Willamette Falls, the surrounding hills, and the history of how people have moved through this landscape.

West Linn has roughly 25 historic sites and a growing network of bike pathways — 250+ miles across the wider area. eBikes let us move through that history at a slower, more observant pace, which makes the past feel present instead of archived.

Why history belongs here

We don't treat history as a page bolted onto a review site. We treat it as context. If you understand the place, you understand the ride: the grades, the weather, and the routes that make up daily life here.

Why West Linn matters

Steep grades, mixed terrain, and a strong sense of place all shape this project. Our future test routes connect to something bigger than a single ride, too — a growing path network steadily linking West Linn toward Portland.

What this page is for

  • Connecting the project to place.
  • Giving context to the terrain we test on.
  • Helping readers understand why local testing matters.
  • Pointing toward the historic-site routes in our upcoming ride series.
