Our Mission
Our Mission
Honest e-bike guidance for riders who've earned the right to ride with confidence.
How This Started
It started with a YouTube video. Carlos saw an e-bike that looked different—built for real terrain, not just flat bike paths. After 30+ years in customer service and facing the realities of Type 1 diabetes, he started wondering: could an e-bike actually handle West Linn's hills?
Three months of research later, he'd compiled data on 70+ bikes across 20+ brands. He mapped every spec against our local terrain—the 20% grades of Hidden Springs, the winding climbs of Sunset Avenue, the 411km of bike paths connecting our community.
That research became this site. And "we" became Carlos and Paige—married 32 years, both navigating our 50s and 60s, and finally ready to explore our hometown together on two wheels.
Why We're Different
Most e-bike reviewers are young, athletic, and obsessed with top speed. They test on flat California roads and care about watts per kilogram.
We care about whether you can step onto the bike without throwing your leg over a high bar. Whether the pedal assist feels natural when your knees protest. Whether the range claims hold up when you're climbing real hills with real groceries.
We test every bike ourselves, on the same hills you'll ride. No manufacturer can pay for a better score. What you read is what we experienced.
Authenticity First
We film raw, edit minimal, and tell you exactly what happened—including when a bike disappointed us.
Local Focus
Every review is tested on West Linn terrain. Our proving ground is your neighborhood.
50+ Perspective
Comfort, accessibility, and practical range matter more than bragging rights.
No Pay-to-Play
Manufacturers can loan bikes for testing. They cannot buy scores or influence our verdict.
